Online and Offline Incubation and Acceleration
There is a lack of business capacity-building and technical support for entrepreneurs from disadvantaged groups. There is a need for new tools and services to address the needs of such entrepreneurs, particularly amidst the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic in which SMEs are isolated, the economy is shrinking, and businesses must innovate to meet new consumer behaviours and demands.
I4D designs and implements incubation and accelerator programs to help create and grow SMEs through business and financial management training, technical and financial support. These programs equip Turkish and Syrian MSMEs with necessary business skills for doing business in Turkey and facilitate social cohesion through technical assistance in the local business environment.
I4D assesses the needs of SMEs and designs incubation and accelerator programs that are customized to deliver training in key skills areas to ensure SME success. Experts in relevant fields participate as trainers that impart knowledge through practice in the context of the Turkish market and its nuances.
Our flagship project under online incubation: The Economic Empowerment Program
Economic Empowerment Program (EEP) is an online incubation program designed for Syrian entrepreneurs in Southeastern Turkey to prepare them for doing business in the country, help them to be equipped with necessary business skills and facilitate social cohesion through technical assistance in the local business environment.
EEP’s goal is to pave the way for solid business partnerships between Syrian and Turkish entrepreneurs to elevate development-focused entrepreneurship in order to reduce geographical inequalities and making such programs accessible for all entrepreneurs regardless of their location during unprecedented times transpired through the COVID-19 pandemic.
EEP has brought together 39 entrepreneurs representing the technology, healthcare, education, agriculture, and automotive industries with 45 mentors who support them to improve their businesses, and has been made possible through SPARK funding.
