Entrepreneurs lacking business acumen for the Turkish context are faced with a lack of linkages to the market which limits the scalability of their businesses and their integration into the economy. SMEs require fruitful and supportive relationships that identify areas for collaboration and mutual benefit for entrepreneurs and corporations facing challenges.
I4D matches SMEs with reputable international companies operating in Turkey to bring forth win-win situations in which entrepreneurs expand their clientele and corporate needs are met. Matchmaking contributes to social cohesion through collaborations that demonstrate the ways in which SMEs add value to corporations regardless of their origins, nationality, or background.
Our flagship project in matchmaking: Tech for Refugees
Tech for Refugees is an accelerator program designed to facilitate win-win relationships between Syrian-led SMEs specializing in Information and Communication Technologies and the major technology companies that they are matched with.
Our goal is to pave the way for solid business partnerships and mentorship relations between the ICT SMEs and market-leading technology companies.
Tech for Refugees has brought together 9 Syrian-led ICT startups, 20 mentors, and 6 large tech companies including Oracle, Microsoft, Google, Amazon AWS, Insider, and Dimagi during the project cycle from December-June 2020 and was financed by European Bank for Reconstruction and Development
