The Problem
International humanitarian and development organizations require technically sound information and practically applicable guidance for income generation interventions based on the operational area in context and its socio-economic landscape. These organizations require solutions that consider regional actors such as chambers of commerce and industry, business confederations, and their roles in promoting economic inclusion.
Labor market assessment in practice: Danish Refugee Council
Examination of the current state of the labor market in selected cities across Southeastern Turkey and the ways in which Syrian and Turkish community members are represented. I4D worked to identify opportunities in a range of sectors and identify key stakeholders and private sector actors in four selected cities namely Kilis, Şanlıurfa, Kahramanmaraş and Hatay. It briefly discusses promising industries or sectors in the region and lays out challenges and potential in terms of the employment market.
